MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK Headline News May 18, 1999 12:10 This just in to the MNN studio. Steven Sears recognizes the superb talents of the writer called Merwolf, who is in fact, Missy Good. Mr Sears stated that now that he is leaving the staff of the ever popular Xena: Warrior Princess, he will in fact be able to finally start reading some of Ms. Good's fiction. This statement from Mr. Sears prompted strange wolf howls to be heard in all corners of the world today, as the fans of Missy Good were informed of his statement. The fans who call themselves wolf pups have been howling for several weeks since the first announcement of the story Tropical Storm written by Missy Good was being published by Justice House Publishing. Continuing louder when the news broke that the book will be made into a movie by Ladyhawke Productions. There are even rumors floating around of a massive pup gathering that will in the future be held in Central Park. New York. At this time this is just a rumor. Although there have been reports of strange howling sounds eminating from the streets and people wearing what can only be described as blue badges with wolf paw prints and the words Not EDS printed on them wandering into all the city's hotels calling out, PUPS PUPS. MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 19, 1999 08:40 We once again interrupt your local programming to bring you the latest on the search for missing field reporter Murphy Pauley, who disappeared yesterday afternoon after receiving a cryptic message about visiting a web page. The intrepid reporter was last seen following up that lead and still has not surfaced. The staff and local authorities have been combing the city looking for clues on the missing reporter. We hope at this time that Murphy is still following up leads on this breaking story. In the meantime, wolf pups continue to surface in the unlikeliest of places. Talking, yes talking and eating chocolate. Have to give these pups credit, they throw all their chocolate wrappers in the proper receptacles and are not making any type of mess where they gather. The reports from our affiliates around the world are all the same on this. They are not disruptive or causing any type of chaos. Except for a group howl, lots of pup tail wagging and high 5'ing or rather high pawing when another pup shows up to join their group, they are an orderly group. Conservative estimates on the numbers of these pups reach into the thousands. We are hoping to get an interview with some of these pups shortly. In the meantime Murphy please contact the station or the local authorities.... This is Katie Chung for MNN....Just a minute I was just handed the same cryptic message as Murphy was. I will be checking this out and report back my findings, after I am fitted with a special tracker so that MNN can follow my steps that will hopefully lead me to the missing reporter. This has been an MNN special news bulletin. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 19, 1999 19:02 We once again interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin. This just in to MNN news room on the ever growing wolf pup sightings around the world. Large groups of wolf pups seem to be massing around all the airports and have been over heard making excited comments about a massive pup gathering that will be taking place in Orlando, Florida May 29-30. The pups seem to get more excited as the day approaches. Many can be seen in what can only be described as a frenzied tail chasing party. Some of the braver ones are even standing on their hind legs doing what was overheard to be called the happy pup dance. The howling sounds in the background are the pups as they cavort around the airports. We have been told by our sources in other areas that this behavior is being repeated in other areas. What is causing this phenomenon to take place is anyone's guess. MNN anchor Baba Wawa will be talking to animal behaviorist Steve the crocodile guy on this evening's 6 o'clock report. While details still remain sketchy on the pup gathering in Orlando, sources in that city are checking out any rumors concerning this happening. We will be bringing you the information as we receive it. The search for missing reporter Murphy Pauley is continuing at this time. Katie Chung is however trying to track her movements at this time. Unfortunately, Katie has not checked in since early this morning. More on this story as it develops. This has been a special news bulletin from Merwolf News Network We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 20, 1999 13:28 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. Thursday, 20, May 1999 Time: 8:40 a.m. Place: any airport, USA. This is MNN anchor person Baba Wawa live from the MNN studios, reporting on the ever increasing incidence of the appearance of wolf pups gathering around the world. We now take you to our roving reporter, Connie Couric who is standing by live at the airport. Connie: Thanks Baba. Yes I am standing here live watching the increasing numbers of wolf pups as they continue to arrive at the airport. As you can see behind me, they are playful group. There also seems to be several elders among the pups who are maintaining some sort of order in this gathering. The howling you hear from time to time is a sort of locator for the pups. As I have noticed that each time the howl goes up several more pups arrive to join the pack. We have an estimate of approximately 123 pups here at this time. They are basically an orderly group. Airport security has been on duty since the pups first started arriving but they haven't had to interfere at all. The pups have even been seen offering chocolate to the guards and joking with them. They are a very friendly bunch. There is a large clock set up that is counting down the days and hours. I was able to talk to one of the elders earlier, who stated that the clock is indeed counting down the time until the group heads for Orlando and a massive pup gathering that will be taking place there. She called it a Missycon. Which she further explained is the official name for the Xena convention that is being held in Orlando that weekend. Orlando officials have verified that local hotels and tourist attractions have been gearing up for this event for weeks. On other fronts, the search is still on for missing reporters Murphy Pauley, who has not been heard from for several days, and for reporter Katie Chung, who was last seen heading off in search of the missing Murphy. The tracker she was wearing was fou From the airport, this is Connie Couric. Back to you Baba. Baba: Thank you Connie. Good luck in your search. There it is folks. Wolf pups continue to gather at airports around the world We continue to bring you updates as they happen. The search continues for the now two missing reporters. Anyone with any information of these somewhat related occurrences please contact MNN studios. Rewards have been offered for information that leads to their being found. This is Baba Wawa for MNN. This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 20, 1999 17:19 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. Thursday, 20, May 1999 Time: 7:45 p.m. Subject: missing reporters and wolf pups This is MNN news anchor Baba Wawa bringing up to date on the latest developments in the missing reporters. There are now three missing reporters since the wolf pups have started gathering. Our satellite bureaus around the world are confirming the disappearance of reporters elsewhere. Why is this happening? Is there any tie in to the amassing wolf pups? When will this end? We can only guess at this point. We take you live to the airport and field reporter Diane Brown. Thank you Baba. As you can see behind me the wolf pups are still massing. The number has grown since this morning. to where we estimate there is at least 200 pups gathered here. Earlier this afternoon they received a message from someone they call the Alpha wolf about having copies of her book Tropical Storm in Orlando. The pups at this point went wild. When they all started howling it was louder than the jets taking off around us. There was a free for all tail chasing party. Many were seen dancing around. The Elders in the group have been able to maintain discipline so far. Just how long can they contain this rambunctious group is anyone's guess. Although the pups do seem to be in awe of the elders and will quiet right down when one approaches. There have been a few instances of the more active pups being sent to what can only be described as a penalty box for a time out. We still don't know for sure if this pup gathering is somehow tied into the disappearance of the reporters. None have wandered away from the area since they arrived. They seem to be content to stay with the pack as more and more pups continue to arrive. They had a strange chant going for a time today. Chanting: Missy, Missy, Missy,... They have been singing and generally having a good time. Security here surrounding the wolf pups is controlled. Some of the guards have been seen laughing and joking with the pups. Some have also been seen handing out large chocolate bars which have earned them huge pup slobbers and group hugs. I will be leaving shortly myself to help in the search for my missing colleagues. Going with me is private investigator Sabrina Duncan from the Townsend Associates to help in my search. This is Diane Brown For MNN news live at the airport. Back to you Baba. Thank you Diane. Good luck in your search. To recap this news bulletin. Wolf pups continue to gather at local airports while reporters continue to disappear around the world. Are the two related? Authorities are baffled by these two occurrences. We will be bringing you continued updates on both the wolf pups and the missing reporters as the story develops. This is Baba Wawa for Merwolf News Network. This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 21, 1999 12:03 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. Here for MNN news is Baba Wawa. This is anchor person Baba Wawa in the MNN news room. We will take you live to the airport where reporter Liz Sawyer is standing by. Thank you, Baba. Behind me the pups are settling down. They have a computer set up to a large screen television. The elder standing at the microphone on the makeshift stage has announced that there is an update coming in. With that one sentence all activity came to a screeching halt. The pups are now sitting or lying quietly to listen. From what we have been able to hear over the sounds of the airport traffic, which is not a whole lot really, we did manage to pick up the words, amazons, centaurs, scorpions, Andreas and big battle. What exactly this all means is beyond me at this point, but the pups seem to understand fully. There have been several collective sighs as this story is read to them. Earlier in the day we were witness to a very strange occurrence. The elder at the mike, who the pups lovingly refer to as Gaia made an announcement of someone named Lunacy retiring. There was a moment of silence as the pups digested this information. Then without a word being said every one of them stood up and started a long very mournful howl that lasted for several minutes. It was very eerie. I was able to interview one of the elders about this and was told the pups were indeed mourning the retirement of one of their friends who was an important part of their little community. The elder went on to say that her presence and reviews will be sorely missed. So as the pups have settled down for the time being behind me, I will try to get an interview with a couple of them, as soon as the elder is finished with reading. There is almost an air of reverence as the pups listen quietly. It's the strangest thing I have ever seen. Who exactly is this person the pups lovingly refer to as the Alpha Wolf? I hope to be able to find this out. In other areas, we know have another reporter missing in action. Diane Brown along with Townsend Associate Private Detective, Sabrina Duncan have not reported in since leaving last night. We can only assume at this point that what ever has happened to the other reporters has happened to them as well. Authorities are searching for the five missing people and seem to think that when they are found they will be together. This is all very mysterious. Police are hesitant about questioning the pups about the disappearances, as they are not sure the two events are in any way related. Could it be just a coincidence? Or is there some sort of connection? We can only speculate at this time. As for myself I am joining the search for the missing reporters and hope to be able to make some sense to these strange happenings. I will be under the protection of officers Cagney and Lacey as we trace the steps of the missing reporters. From the airport, this is Liz Sawyer. Back to you Baba. Thank you, Liz. Good luck in your search. Be careful. We are quickly running out of reporters. We will continue to bring you updates on the missing reporters and this very strange massing of wolf pups. This is Baba Wawa for Merwolf News Network. This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 22, 1999 11:40 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. Here for MNN news is Baba Wawa. This is Baba Wawa for MNN news. We take you live to the airport and reporter Diane Chambers. Diane? Thank you, Baba. This is Diane Chambers and I am standing in front of the ever growing pack of wolf pups who we now estimate to be around 300 pups. If you look behind me you can see them frolicking in the background. They are indeed a very friendly group. I had several come up to me earlier and siting quietly while we ran our video check. They seem to be very interested in how the equipment works. They did mention learning the equipment in order to make a pup movie. They seem to also have a never ending supply of Chocolate, which they have been sharing with the crew, while they ask questions about running the cameras. They are very fast learners. You can hear a large amount of popping sounds. The pups seem to also have a never ending supply of bubble wrap that they have been using in very creative ways. I was able to talk to a few of the pups, who verified what we have already been told. They are indeed massing for this trip to Orlando for the Xena Convention that will be held Memorial Day weekend. Although they have renamed it the Missycon. The Alpha they lovingly refer to is author Missy Good who I have been told writes, in the pups words: "fantastic stories" I will be checking this out later. Most of the pups will be meeting Ms. Good for the first time and are very excited. They also mentioned other Authors who will be there. We have heard these names come up from time to time during the night. They called Llachlan, who they mentioned along with the names Reed and Jae, and something about a very steamy scene, that could cause spontaneous combustion while reading, or at least having a cigarette after reading. They now have fire extinguishers handy. Also mentioned very frequently was a "Go there" bus, and touring peaks and valleys. Sounds very interesting. As I have said they are a very playful and friendly group. They seem to take the news of the now missing eight people in stride. As if this was a perfectly natural occurrence. One pup explained this very cryptically before running backed to the pack. She said "Very simply, they are hooked." I will be tracing their footsteps shortly. Police woman Pepper Anderson will be going with me in this quest to find the missing people. We will be taking a portable camera with us to document the search. That is where everything stands at this point Baba. This is Diane Chambers, from the airport. Back to you Baba. Thank you, Diane. Pups, updates, chocolate, fire extinguishers, bubble wrap and steamy scenes, this is indeed a very interesting story. Be careful in your search. There is the latest on the massing of wolf pups at the airport. We will continue to bring you updates on this occurrence. For MNN news, this is Baba Wawa This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 23, 1999 11:08 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. Here for MNN news is Baba Wawa. Good Morning, This is MNN news anchor Baba Wawa and we will take you right to the airport where reporter Debra Shriver is standing by. Debra? Thank you, Baba. We are experiencing some technical difficulties this morning. As you know our main camera woman left yesterday to document reporter Diane Chambers and Police woman Pepper Anderson's search for the missing 8 people. That number has now grown to eleven people. Yes, eleven people. The camera was found on the hood to the broadcast truck very early this morning with this message. Go to Merwolf.com. There is no sign of foul play and authorities are still reluctant to comment or even question any of the pups, that are still massing behind me. I have to agree with my colleagues and say that indeed the pack is a very friendly group. A bit rowdy at times but only among themselves. They now have a lavender colored bus in the middle of the area with the words "GO THERE" printed on the sides and back. Where exactly does the go there bus go to? I asked some of the pups about the destination of the bus, which caused them to all laugh, several who were drinking at the time sprayed the surrounding area. One brave pup explained that the bus traveled to all the popular "peaks and valleys". That takes a lot of gas to run a bus that size all over the place. To which the pup replied: "it doesn't use gas or anything that will pollute the air. They are a very environment conscious group. We were filming the pups in action earlier, with the permission of the elders of the group. They seem to have a grand time playing with the miles and miles of bubble wrap, as they fashioned it into clothing. They then proceeded to play, "break the bubbles" which one elder explained tome only had two rules. One you can't use your hands and two, they can't break their own bubbles. The wrap has to be worn by someone else. This has made for some very interesting interaction between the pups. If this were a movie, it would at least have at the minimum an "R" rating. What do they eat? Well they seem to consume large amounts of chocolate, strawberries, ice cream, chocolate milk and frosted flakes. That's quite the diet, yet none seem to be lacking anything. Their eyes are bright and alert, although a few are a little blood shot from lack of sleep, and coats are shiny. They are a healthy group. When I asked for more information about why the pups are gathering, I was handed a piece of paper that said MerwolfPack@onelist.com. She said if I go to that location everything will be explained. I will be checking out this site my self. As this is an E-mail address, I will be going alone to check this out. I will however keep in touch with special investigator Honey West via walkie talkie. I will be taking a canine companion with me. Lassie will be able to go for help if I run into trouble. That is where everything stands at this point. This is Debra Shriver, live from the airport. Back to you Baba. Thank you, Debra. Please be careful. That was the latest report on the massing of wolf pups and the now 11 missing persons. We will be bringing you updates to this story as they happen. For MNN this is BabaWawa. This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 24, 1999 12:11 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. Here for MNN news is Baba Wawa. Camera shows Baba seated in front of a computer screen totally engrossed in what she is reading, paying no attention to the cues she is receiving from the director. The director ends up walking over and getting her attention. She scowls at him until he points to the camera where the red light is on. She sighs in aggravation at being disturbed but begins. "This is Baba Wawa. We take you right to the airport where field reporter Mary Sawyer is standing by." "Thank you Baba. Have to ask. What were you reading so intently?" "Went to Merwolf.com. Just give your report Mary" Clearing throat. "Ahem... Yes will do. Well the activity behind me has really picked up in the last hour. The pups as you can see are cleaning up the area where they have been gathering and loading suitcases and equipment onto several busses. All are lavender and have the words GO THERE printed on them. These are like no busses I have ever seen. They are lined up end to end and from this overhead shot it almost looks like a landing strip on the top of the busses. We were able to get a tour of one of them. What a set up! Leather couches, showers, very comfortable seats. I did notice a couple of the shyer pups peaking out from under and behind the couches. There is a computer hooked up to a large screen television, much like the pups have out here on the stage. They have a VCR here also. Plenty of pillows and blankets, plus the ever present bubble wrap. They have a very well stocked kitchen area. Well stocked with the food that are their main staples. Some of the pups were seen leaving to catch planes this morning. There were many hugs and howls before the pups left the area. It looks like things are starting to wind down here as the pups prepare to leave for Orlando. I have been told that many will remain here until later in the week. Other news this morning: The search is still on for the now missing fourteen people and a dog. Lassie didn't return either, so I think it is safe to assume that they aren't in any danger and the hope is still running very high that they will all be found safe and unharmed. I was handed the address of a web site. I will be checking out this mysterious site that seems to hold our reporters. Wish me luck Baba, I hope I am able to report back. I will admit to being very nervous about this, as every time one of our people find this place they don't return. But you seem to be all right after visiting that location. So here I go. From the airport, this is Mary Sawyer. Back to you Baba." "Baba? Are you there?" In the studio, Baba is back to looking intently at the computer screen when the director taps her on the shoulder. "WHAT IS IT NOW?" He points to the camera once again. "OH RIGHT. This is Baba Wawa For MNN." The camera shuts off but the audio is still on. We hear Baba's voice. "YOU TOTAL JACKASS. DON'T EVER INTERRUPT ME LIKE THAT AGAIN. I DON'T NEED THIS [censored] ....." This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 25, 1999 21:30 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. We will take you to the airport and reporter Katie Walters. Good morning, this is Katie Walters. As you can see from the activity behind me, the pups are hard at work cleaning the area where they have been gathering since last week. From the work they are doing, this area will be left a lot cleaner than it was when they first arrived. Every scrap of paper is being picked up and taken to the large trash bins that have been brought in by the "Go There Company". Can you get a shot of those bins? They are lavender in color with rainbows and wolf pups painted on the sides. All trash bins should look that good. The pups are even painting the fence around the holding area and have erected a flag pole with the following flags in descending order. The American flag. The Merwolf unofficial pup flag and a flag with a large hawk's head in front of crossed quills and fashioned to look like a parchment scroll. The CEO of the airport came down earlier and the pups handed him a large bar of chocolate and a huge thank you card signed by all the pups. They are indeed a very well mannered and polite group. Their numbers have started to dwindle as more and more pups are flying out. I have been told that the royal entourage has left in their own private lavender "GO THERE" jet. This has been a real experience to watch the pups in action. A real eye opener. I can't believe all the creative uses for bubble wrap. I will definitely have to pick some up myself. On our other news story, the missing has now reached sixteen people and one dog. Baba Wawa is now listed among the missing. Where are these sixteen people? Would I even have the courage to try to find them? Yes, I have to. They are my colleagues and friends. I have to find out exactly what this Merwolf.com is all about. I am taking no precautionary measures, no guards. I am about to boldly go where many have gone before. Or actually "go there" as the pups are so fond of saying. A saying they use as often as the words: Missy, update or the variant: "pupdate," Orlando and peaks and valleys. I can only hope that when I arrive at this mysterious destination I will find the missing reporters, bodyguards, camera people and of course Lassie. From the airport, this is Katie Walters. This has been a Special New Bulletin from Merwolf News Network. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress. |
MERWOLF NEWS NETWORK News Bulletin May 26, 1999 10:48 We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special news bulletin for the Merwolf News Network. "Good evening, This is Walter Cronkite, in for the missing Baba Wawa. We take you directly to the airport and MNN news reporter Maria Norville." The camera stays on Walter who is unaware he is still on camera, and turns on the computer at his side. The director finally gets his attention. "We seem to be having technical difficulties connecting with the airport and Maria at this time. We do however have a tape of what happened earlier." Tape shows the crew standing around a computer screen. Walter's voice comes through the earphone Maria is wearing. "Maria, can you hear me? Maria, is your equipment working? Will someone check to see if her equipment is turned on? MARIA?" "Damn it Walter, can't you see I am busy. What the hell do you want?" "Your report. You know the one on the events as they unfolded earlier? You do remember you have a report to give?" "Report? What Report?" "The one you wrote? Remember?" "That one? You want me to give that silly thing right this minute?" "Yes that is the reason we interrupted their regularly scheduled programming" "Damn, I thought you retired thirty years ago. What are you doing back in the studio and where the hell is Baba?" "She's among the missing also Maria. Just give us your report." "Fine. Hey don't any of you characters dare hit that down key until I finish this report." She steps in front of the camera. "ThisIsMariaNorvilleLiveAtTheAirport. PupsHaveBeenLeavingInGroupsAndPairsSinceEarlyThisMorning." "Maria, slow down. We can't understand a word you are saying." "VERY WELL. It seems that this is the day the pups have been waiting for. They have taken everything down that they have put up in the last week. Every scrap of paper has been picked up and hauled away. Pups can be seen loading their equipment and suitcases on the busses which now have large signs stating "Orlando or Bust". Wait a minute I need to get a little closer. The word is not bust. It is breast. BREAST??? Yes that is what it says. "Orlando or Breast" The last bus load is getting ready to move out followed by a fleet of black Lexus SUV's and green Mustang convertibles. There are howls of joy among the pups as we bid goodbye to this fun loving group. Now Walter if you don't mind I would like to get back to what I was doing before you so rudely interrupted me." "Wait Maria, what about the rest of your report? You know your missing colleagues?" "Walter isn't it time for you to take a nap or a pill or something?" "No it's not and Do I need to remind you of your contract?" "You know, Wally you are really starting to piss me off. Oh Very well…" "The 17 missing people and one missing dog were found wandering near the airport this morning. They all wore that same glassy wild eyed look and mumbling the same words. Need an update. Got to have an update. Have to get to Orlando. Tropical Storm. Have to meet Missy." "All attempts to detain them for medical attention failed and they escaped on a plane that took off a short time ago. We have been told that the tickets were paid for by money collected by the pups. Lassie I'm not sure of, but if dogs could smile I would swear she was smiling. She carried a large picture of a wolf in her mouth that looked like it was autographed with a paw print and she wore a big charm on her collar that said, 'Thanks for the wonderful time. Love Ares.'" Pups are happy and on their way. The missing people are found safe, Lassie is smiling. So that the story Walter. We have a happy ending. Sort of." "Sort of, Maria?" "Yes only one this would make this truly a happy ending" "What is that?" "That you leave me the [censored -F^&*-] alone so that I can get back to the story. Damn it Dar and Kerry were just about to kiss when you interrupted me. Maria out." She walks away shouting. "You [censored… bleeps bleeping bleeps bleeps] had better not have scrolled down and lost my place..." Walter shouts. "Will someone turn off that damn video." The sound echoes through the empty studio. "Hey where is everyone?" He gets up and pulls a sign off a camera that states. GONE TO ORLANDO. As the camera continues to record the scene he walks to the desk and picks up the phone. "Baba. Did you get the tickets? Great, I'll meet you at the airport. WAHOO Orlando here we come. Missy, Missy, Missy......" |
